Creative Movement
Creative Movement combines improv and imagery. Designed to be an introduction to movement, students will be introduced to the fundamental steps of tap and ballet. The goal is to allow students to build confidence and skill in a warm and nurturing environment while they refine their fine motor skills and kinesthetic awareness.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is a blend of various styles incorporating the use of isolation, time, energy, and space to create a unique movement quality. Our desire to reclaim this art form for the glory of God with steps and choreography that is edify to the dancer and the audience. Full of high energy this class begins with a cardio warm-up to develop strength, flexibility, correct alignment and coordination, followed by progressions across the floor, and culminates in extended dance combinations.
Tap Dance
Students will be exposed to the basic fundamental tap steps. As students progress these steps are then arranged in combinations and performed at various tempos. Articulation of the feet and clarity of sound, are emphasized.
Ballet
Our ballet division is comprised of beginner and intermediate ballet students. The class structure will consist of a barre, center floor, and across the floor work. Proper body alignment, execution of steps and terminology will be stressed. In addition, they will work on jumps, and connecting steps through a variety of exercises.
Singing & Dance
Jazz
Jazz is designed for the intermediate to advanced dancer. The focus is building strong dancers who can execute advanced movements (multiple turns, complex leaps, quick moves, fast foot work, progressions across the floor and intricate combinations with attention to detail, clarity and precision). The fundamentals of this course are transferable in various genres and will help build a well round dancer. This upbeat style incorporates moves from various style with elements of cultural dance.
